A Digital Health Collaboration - Case-Study

PowHealth.com (now Healthbit.com)

"PowHealth" approached me in 2011 with a few draft concept slides as they just incorporated the company.
They wanted to empower patients to track their health in inclusive and simple ways. I was looking to empower patients to manage their medicines and healthcare interactions more safely.  It was a match!

Our vision was uniformly "All your health in one please" which became the platform' slogan.

I became a development partner and shareholder. Through the collaboration, I created hierarchical Medical Communities fora, an Adverse Event reporting flow and auto-encoding process, helped design the electronic health record, and engaged with external organisations to represent "PowHealth" at conferences, meetup, investor meetings and e-health competitions.

The website launched in 2014 which led to a collaboration with Teva Ireland, and with several charities which suddenly had an engine to give messages to patients and to allow these to communicate and exchange health data and tips as part of the secured Medical Communities (e.g. Pancreatic Cancer Action).

In 2015 a clinical study using PowHealth was undertaken in the UK (NHS Health Research Authority study in Myocardial Infarction - details here:

PowHealth hence received several recognition and nominations such as a mention in the Huffington Post, and a finalist seat at the Axa PPP in April 2015.

With the implementation of the "EU General Data Protection Regulation" several areas of the website and data capture were revisited and the platform was relaunched as "Healthbit" with enhanced dashboards and tools.
